Writing

One area I usually see some children regress during the summer is in writing. A lot of our focus is on including a beginning, middle, and end. Then we talk about adding details that include when, where, who, what, and how. Below are some fun websites where students can create online stories. You might think about creating a few together as a family throughout the summer.

Have fun! Please let me know if you have any questions!

  1. These are all great websites to use for writing. I will be adding them to my summer website list. I do think that I will use them with my students first so they will have some knowledge when they are doing it at home.

  2. Kristy, I use all of these sites with my students in class. They are very helpful and the kids love them. I like your idea about using them over the summer to help your students practice and maintain their writing skills. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love your idea for blogging about activites for children to do over the summer. My blog is also a class blog, and after I finish sharing our class activities, I think I will do something similar. Maybe blog about some good math websites or highlight some different books to read. I also want to share your writing websites list, if you don't mind.
